Hi there! I’m Emily Roberts. I grew up in Knoxville and attended Laurel Church of Christ for nearly all of the first 18 years of my life. My parents met at the Christian Student Center, as did many of their friends - all of whom have been mentors and cheerleaders for me throughout my life. And though I defected and went to California for college, the CSC was a central part of my childhood and teenage years, through which adopted students became babysitters, tutors, role models, and friends. Some of my closest adult friends came about through the extended CSC community, and I love supporting that same community in continuing that blessing.
My husband Doug and I moved back to Knoxville from Denver in 2016. We have two wild and wonderful kids, plus a slightly resentful goldendoodle. My other joys include travel (11 countries and counting), books, and hearing people’s stories. I have a Masters in Social Work and am deeply drawn to lifting up one another through the love of Christ.
